New dating show 2016
The daters are of all ages, backgrounds and from across the U. The audience comes along for the ride in a refreshingly authentic viewing experience that plays like a real-life romantic comedy.
At the end of each episode, we find out if the participants want to see each other again for a second date or if they head back to love's drawing board.
Hosted by entertainment personality Terrence “J” Jenkins, COUPLED follows 12 single, smart and young professional women looking for love, who will meet face-to-face with eligible single men against the beautiful backdrop of the Caribbean islands.
The women have first choice as they instantly decide if they feel a spark of chemistry and want to spend more time with each guy, or if they don’t feel a connection and want to wait for the next one.
Everyone can relate to the experience of a first date: the promise of potential love when it goes well and the hilariously awkward moments if it crashes and burns.
From Executive Producer Ellen De Generes, narrated by Drew Barrymore and based on the hit U. format, this new series offers a voyeuristic look at a variety of real first dates happening throughout one night at the same restaurant in Chicago.
Terrence Jenkins — better-known as “Think Like a Man” actor Terrence J — says he’s ready for the challenge of hosting “Coupled,” the new Fox reality dating show premiering May 17.
“We wanted to give the power to the women, which is what makes this show different,” he says.
The series will feature the text message conversations between participants.“It probably felt a little bit too close to other reality shows being done well right now,” Walden said.“There wasn’t any need to do another relationship show on an island.” Burnett is back in business with Fox with a new series, an interactive musical game show based on the Shazam app. “We’re exciting to be working with him again,” Walden said."First Dates" is executive produced by Ellen De Generes and Jeff Kleeman for A Very Good Production, Pam Healey and John Hesling for Shed Media, and Tim Carter for Twenty Twenty.Anthony Dominici also serves as executive producer.
